Agate

Agate is a form of Chalcedony. There are many varieties of agate, some which exhibit beautiful colors, banding, and quartz-lined cavities. Agate is a stone of balance, precision, and perception.

Mythology: Agate is named after the river Achates in Greece, where it was discovered and named by Theophrastus in ancient times, in about the 3rd to 4th centuries BC. There are many varieties of agate that can be found throughout the world, some which exhibit beautiful colors, banding, and quartz-lined cavities.
